FCC Emergency Broadband Benefit

Hello,

The Emergency Broadband Benefit is a temporary FCC program to help households struggling to afford internet service during the pandemic. The materials HERE are available for public use. Please find the resources on the FCC page that fits best to add to your school newsletter, email, physical mailing, and social media posts.

As of May 12, 2021, eligible households will be able to enroll in the program to receive a monthly discount off the cost of broadband service from an approved provider. Eligible households can enroll through an approved provider or by visiting GetEmergencyBroadband.org. The families need to do this directly, so the district can not do this for them.

The benefit provides:

  • Up to $50/month discount for broadband service;
  • Up to $75/month discount for households on qualifying Tribal lands; and
  • A one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet purchased through a participating provider.

Thank you.
