The Forest Grove School District (FGSD) is pleased to announce the hiring of Juliana Kelly as the new Principal at Neil Armstrong Middle School (NAMS). In January, Ted Zehr was named as Interim Principal as Mr. Osvaldo Garcia-Contreras accepted a new role as District ELD/Migrant/Equity Coordinator. Ms. Kelly will start her new position on July 1, 2021. The interview process consisted of multiple rounds of interviews and a pool of very strong candidates. Ms. Kelly established herself as the best candidate to lead the staff and students of NAMS in today’s environment and into the future. After being hired as the Assistant Principal, Ms. Kelly said, “I am beyond thrilled to continue to work with the amazing students, staff and community at Neil Armstrong Middle School.”
Ms. Kelly has served as the Assistant Principal at NAMS for the past three years. Prior to her time at NAMS, she served as the Dean of Students and the English Language Development Facilitator at Fern Hill Elementary School. She has also served in key leadership roles such as substitute principal at various schools throughout the district. She has also been part of the Aspiring Leaders PLC and a member of the Ed Tech Cadre. Prior to her time at Fern Hill, Ms. Kelly was a 2nd Grade teacher in the district where she taught bilingually.
Ms. Kelly received a Bachelor’s Degree in Spanish from Middlebury College in 2003 and her Masters in Teaching from Lewis and Clark College in 2008.

Kelly comenzará su nuevo puesto el 1 de julio de 2021. El proceso de entrevistas consistió en múltiples rondas de entrevistas y un grupo de candidatos muy fuertes. La Sra. La Sra. Kelly se ha desempeñado como subdirectora en NAMS durante los últimos tres años.
